MeriEducation

When MeriEducation was conceptualized, I placed building a curriculum on the top of the list. It started with a few pages of typed out lessons and has evolved into almost 1,000 pages of curriculum. The curriculum is edited and updated one to three times a year. The second on the list was the learning environment. I had a grand vision: build a learning center that is more than just a few chairs and tables. I created vibrant learning spaces that takes into account student happiness as it relates to student productivity. To that end, I design centers that have a modern flair. So, MeriEducation sticks personable tutors who score in the 98th percentile or higher with students in a one-on-one setting in an awesome learning environment with a finely crafted curriculum and, voila, success. Joan Nguyen

Founder/Director of Business Development and Curriculum

I was raised by immigrant parents-- my father taught me to dream while my mother taught me how to work industriously. As the first to attend college, I had dreams of attending law school that were supplanted with a mission to revolutionize education, leading to my brainchild, MeriEducation. I wanted to create a test prep curriculum and learning environment that was student-centric. Going to students' homes to tutor turned into a 2,200 square foot center. At the age of 23, I designed and built a learning center that was fresh and innovative. More importantly, I conceptualized an idea founded on quality and hyper individualization. One center has now turned into three, along with a groundbreaking partnership with TestMax, a leading iOS test app developer. At 28, I am proud and incredibly humbled to have almost 50 employees and thousands of students who believe in the MeriEducation dream. More here: http://www.merieducation.com/about_ourfounder.htm
