Founded by Forrest Walden in 2010, the first Iron Tribe gym reached its 250 athlete membership cap within its first year, with the average athlete investing $250/month into their experience at Iron Tribe. One of those 250 athletes, Jim Cavale, approached Walden to partner up and open more gyms together in Birmingham, while co-founding a new Iron Tribe Franchising business for others to partner and take Iron Tribe to markets worldwide. Together, Walden and Cavale have done just that, with more than 70 franchises sold and six gyms of their own, operating at the top of the chain.

Jim Cavale

President/COO

Originally from Upstate NY, Jim trekked to Alabama on a baseball scholarship and has never looked back. Studying journalism and film, Jim founded his university's first student-run sports broadcasting network. After graduating in 2005, Jim found two startups that would revolutionize the high school and college sports markets with groundbreaking video and recruiting technologies. In 2010, Jim walked into a brand new gym called Iron Tribe, located in his Birmingham (AL) neighborhood. His experience was holistically transformational to the point where Jim approached the founder, Forrest Walden, and proposed joining him as a business partner to take Iron Tribe's transformational experience to the world. In 2011, one year after Forrest opened the first IronTribe, Jim opened the second location just 10 miles away. Together, Forrest and Jim have opened six Iron Tribe gyms in Birmingham, and found the IronTribe Franchise business that has more than 70 units sold now.
