Sabrina Hersi Issa
Sabrina is the CEO of Dalecare, a home health agency dedicated to innovation in caregiving and using technology to enhance patient care experience. She is the architect behind Caregive America and the lead developer of TranslatedHealth, a program that seeks to explain physical therapy motions for non-English language speaking patients. Previously, she was a Program Advisor at Afghans for Civil Society, an NGO that developed women’s programs and independent media in southern Afghanistan, worked for National Public Radio and Oxfam America. She's advised women legislators on digital civic engagement and social media and has spoken at a number of conferences on public health, social entrepreneurship and digital advocacy. She is the co-founder of Washington Women Social Entrepreneurs and created the chapter's women changemaker speaker series: How She Does It. Sabrina is a board member of The African Future and an adviser to Digital Democracy. She was awarded the Young Woman of Achievement Award for Social Innovation by the Women's Information Network and Washingtonian Magazine named her a Woman to Watch as part of it's Most Powerful Women in Washington issue. Sabrina Hersi Issa is the Digital Director at Be Bold Media, a digital media firm that uses powerful storytelling to develop impactful online and mobile campaigns for innovators and organizers around the world. She is also the co-founder of EndFamine.com, a community dedicated to seeking sustainable solutions to global hunger launched in response to the famine in the Horn of Africa.
